During the design stage of the product, mechanical impact tests can be used to quickly verify the structural strength level or determine whether the packaging material has an appropriate buffering effect. The severity of the test depends on the waveform, G value, pulse time and the number of impacts.
In daily life, the most common shock waveforms we encounter are semi-sine waves, square waves and sawtooth waves. The tests are mainly conducted on unpackaged products. Generally, a three-axis six-sided approach is adopted, with each side being impacted three times as the main specification.
